Musings 'n Whimsy

Nate was busy snapping pics. I was busy listening in on David Koechner, and trying not to get caught staring at Janeane Garofalo. I also got to chat with Michael Coleman and Peter Hulne of Beer Shark Mice.
Fun stuff.

This is a picture of me taking a picture of Neil Flynn (Janitor from Scrubs).
Actually I’m taking two pictures of Neil, because both ladies wanted me to use their camera phones. Last night was an amazing night. First we did our Mainstage show at the Curious Comedy Theater to a packed house and it was a great show. Our improv set in the second half was on fire! Then we took a taxi van over to the Bagdad and walked into a sea of confusion as things were less than organized. But hey, we’re improvisers so we weren’t phased.
We were taken upstairs to our “green room” (a side room in the bar that had a pool table). The UCB LA team was already up there. This is the conversation we had with them.
Them - “We were told you guys were doing improv, so we are doing improv.”
Us - “We were told you were doing sketch, so we are doing sketch.”
Both teams stuck to their guns and I’m glad we did because we did an awesome set.
After a few minutes the Beer Shark Mice team showed up. They were really cool and introduced themselves to us and did a great job of making it seem like they cared about what our names were. Neil Flynn and David Koechner were really down to earth and fun to hang out with. I wish we had more time to talk.
Then we did our set and the crowd loved us. In fact, before we started, when the host announced our name a bunch of people in the crowd cheered for us as if they were already fans of the theater. And anyone who wasn’t already a fan, sure is now.
After that the UCB LA team performed (I didn’t see much of it because I was hanging out in the green room with Beer Shark Mice) and after them Beer Shark Mice took the stage. Their set was fantastic.
This was probably one of my best nights in comedy ever.
