Today's Destination
Dolcie and I are headed down to Ashland today for a three day Oregon Shakespeare Festival orgy vacation. Four plays in three days. What plays? Stay tuned…or scroll back through posts from earlier in the year.
I’ve also never been in Ashland longer than it takes to drive through it on I-5, so I expect to do a little exploration…well…as much exploration as a theatre-going...

– Neil Young, Everybody Knows this is Nowhere, 1969. Funny how you can forget a song you heard as a kid, and then just have it materialize (not necessarily pop) into your head.

– John C. Dvorak (on choosing a Gewürztraminer wine over Brain Toniq)…it’s funnier to hear the cranky Dvorak say such things.

Hitler, Food Writing and Women's Tennis
I have a feeling I’d want to smack Giles Coren if our paths ever cross for being an egregious ass, but he sometimes writes things that are at least…interesting…even if you have to look for the thread that ties it all together.
That Adolf Hitler, He’s Having a Laugh is one such piece. Point of interest…Giles recently won the Bad Sex in Fiction Award. Hopefully his...

Where the Comedy Takes You...
I had a slightly technical question about human decomposition while I was writing…um… a comedy sketch. Ahh..the comedy grows from more nutrient-rich soil as a result.
Putrefaction Odor, color changes, and bloating of the body during decomposition are the results of putrefaction. The lower part of the abdomen turns green due to bacteria activity in the cecum. Bacteria break down...

Maintenance Note
Colors are being tweaked over the next few days as well as a few layout adjustments. I’ve also mangled my CSS stuff so the header is getting rendered differently between IE and Firefox. Please stand by.

A New Header
This might not be the final version, but something like this is coming soon. Words could be linked to topics that share a common tag (e.g., “iPhone” could like to all “iPhone” tagged topics).
Some words are hard to see…I’m not sure I care all that much, but I will need to change out some other color elements of the site (date block, link colors).
I’m...

Maintenance Note
My site may be offline for up to 72 hours as I have changed the domain pointer with my web host to point to my Tumblr account. That means I can have all of the functionality of Tumblr AND the complete vanity of my own brianscottrogers.com domain in the address bar (as opposed to scottrogers.tumblr.com).
Hopefully it won’t be down very long.
UPDATED Unfortunately, I forgot that pointing the...

Even with medication, I felt ill after 30 minutes in Depoe Bay’s 12’ swells. I did get to see a whale a few times, then I sat down ride out an unpleasant knot in my stomach.
