About Me
I'm a Portland performer, playwright and producer. I've written and performed in several sketch shows as a Curious Comedy Theater main stage player (where he also laid some of the flooring). I've appeared as a fat Julius Caesar, a fat anti-fascist worker, a fat aging artist and a fat clown in many productions at Portland Actors Conservatory. I was a founding member of the Montgomery Street Players where I wrote and produced Stay for the Cake, and appeared in A Bawdy Tale. I've also appeared at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival and on The Famous Mysterious Actor Show, CHAD Chats, The Mental State Department's PSICK-ASS, and several Fertile Ground Festival productions.
I also masquerade as a business analyst and technical writer.
My next project, The Charles Dickens Second American Book Tour Variety Hour, will hit a Portland stage later in 2013…unless I'm distracted by a snack cake.
Yes, I’ll be joining @LanceLifeLines at the Risk/Reward Festival in June. Here’s a trailer of what to expect. I’m totally psyched to be a part of it.
Hi gang!
Lance here with an unique opportunity for you to spend one minute with me at the Jack London Bar this Thursday and Friday after my show.
Anyone that purchases a pre-sale ticket to Put the Y-O-U in Your Y-O-Universe will get to spend one minute with me AT NO EXTRA CHARGE!
I’d like to call it an encore, but, as you know, my whole life is an encore. So, let’s just call it 67 seconds of additional introspection and information that I don’t normally share with audiences - an extra 67 seconds that will recap everything in the show and empower you to Put the Y-O-U in Your Y-O-Universe.
Why 67 seconds for the price of one minute? Well gang, you know I always give 111% AND I always round up. Shouldn’t you?
Order your pre-sale ticket, and be sure to add the One Minute with Lance to your cart before checking out.
Already purchased a pre-sale ticket? No worries, as you’ll be credited for One Minute with Lance upon check-in at the door.
Let’s spend a minute together.
Thanks gang.
Lance
“One Minute with Lance” is now included with all pre-sale tickets.
Wise and life-saving words, as always, from Lance Banks.
Folks, when Outrageous Fortune hands me slings and arrows, I fashion them into life-saving splints to help those with severe leg injuries.
Learn first aid, and get a First Aid Kit.
I believe Lance was saying he’d have the Everything Bagel… because he has everything.
Lance approves a decision on a shoot at Island Station Media Lab.
This tickles me.
Maybe it’s time I read past the 30 page mark of Gödel, Escher, Bach.
Douglas Hofstadter is formally trained in math and physics, but his imagination proved too big for one field. He arrived at the intersection of philosophy, linguistics, anthropology, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and psychology known as cognitive science. And he’s been a very effective evangelist for the field. Scientific American called his first book, the Pulitzer Prize-winning bestseller Gödel, Escher, Bach, a “major literary event,” and each successive work has been met with eager anticipation.
To mark the occasion, we’re offering 30% off his new book, Surfaces and Essences, coauthored by French psychologist Emmanuel Sander, as well as his three most popular backlist titles, Gödel, Escher, Bach (1979), The Mind’s I (1981), and I Am a Strange Loop (2007): http://powells.us/12FRSGy
Lance Banks, ladies and gentlemen.
Did you know I personally had Y-O-Universal Studios delay the release of Fast and Furious 6 by a week so that you can come see me at The Jack London Bar where you can Put the Y-O-U in Your Y-O-Universe on May 16 and 17?
Now you do. It makes sense.
Because it does.
What could make M83’s Hurry Up We’re Dreaming more perfect? This.

My head just exploded from cuteness.
We know everyone is all over “bucket of sloths,” but seriously?
